The commercial is featured on “It’s a Matter of Your Health”, a medical health program covering a wide range of health topics on radio stations across the United States.
This show draws renowned medical sources from across the country for powerful positive health information. It appeals to all people whether they approach medicine traditionally or holistically, as it helps people to live healthier lives. The program does this by educating the audience about taking responsibility for their health care and investigating viable alternative treatment modalities and lifestyle options.

Asian Markets Hungry for the Real Thing!

In Asia, words like “halal”, “ayurvedic” and “biodynamic” aren’t just buzzwords but true statements. Even the word “natural” has a special meaning here because of different cultural backgrounds. The lifestyle of people living in Asia seems more connected to nature than the commercialized lifestyles of most people in the west. The word “natural” is not being raped of its true meaning as often happens in the U.S. and Europe.
Asia is certainly turning green! But it is not much interested in confusing words or stiff regulations like the certifying organic bodies in the U.S. and Europe. In Asia, people seem to think more conservatively and we rather like to use the word “pure” instead.
People seem to understand more the ego, greed and competitive business involved now in this business. In Asia, they look at things in a more mature way and have developed their own unified certified standards for cosmetics.
Several weeks ago, I was a guest at Indocert, the Indian certifying body accredited by DAkks, Ecocert, USDA, etc. in India. There, I felt both inspired and surprised. Indocert, of course, is a highly professional organization. They are also quite kind and helpful in the way that they to about their business of organic certification.
Compare this to the bad behavior during the last Natural Products Expo in Anaheim, California. Wasn’t this a disgrace to everyone? Of course it was - and both the U.S. and European certifying bodies can learn a bit from other organizations. Maybe they should look at Indocert as an example?.
Whatever happens in Asia, the winners will be the consumers. They will get true information with each cosmetic purchase. This doesn’t always happen in Europe, where regulations are so overdone that there are more lawyers than chemists!
With all I have seen and heard during my visit at Indocert, I believe that Asian countries may have come up with the right dose of honesty. The certifying organic game is now on in Asia. We are all watching, and so far so good!.
New Research Links Fat to Harmful Chemicals

It's not just about calories in versus calories out. Scientists have recently discovered that many chemicals can disrupt the endocrine system, making the food we eat less healthy.
These natural and synthetic chemicals are known as endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), or as researchers have begun to call them, obesogens. Obesogens are chemicals that disrupt the function of hormonal systems; many researchers believe they lead to weight gain and, in turn, numerous diseases.They enter our bodies from a variety of sources — natural hormones found in soy products, hormones administered to animals, plastics in some food and drink packaging, ingredients added to processed foods, and pesticides sprayed on produce. They act in a variety of ways: by mimicking human hormones such as estrogen, by misprogramming stem cells to become fat cells and by altering the function of genes.
Your endocrine system is a finely tuned instrument that can easily be thrown out of kilter. "Obesogens are thought to act by hijacking the regulatory systems that control body weight," says Frederick vom Saal, Ph.D., curators' professor of biological sciences at the University of Missouri. "And any chemical that interferes with body weight is an endocrine disruptor."
Even strictly following the smartest traditional advice won't lower obesogen exposure. An apple a day may have kept the doctor away 150 years ago. But if that apple now comes with chemicals believed to promote obesity, then that advice is way out of date. In fact, apples have been named one of the most pesticide-laden produce choices.
However, there are some ways to limit obesogen exposure.
First, reduce pesticide exposure. According to the Environmental Working Group, you can reduce your pesticide exposure by nearly 80% simply by choosing organic versions of the 12 fruits and vegetables shown in its tests to contain the highest pesticide load. In order of pesticide load, they are peaches, apples, bell peppers, celery, nectarines, strawberries, cherries, kale, lettuce, imported grapes, carrots, and pears. Conventionally grown fruits and vegetables with the least pesticide residue include: onions, avocados, sweet corn, pineapples, mangoes, asparagus, sweet peas, kiwis, cabbages, eggplants, papayas, watermelons, broccoli, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes. No matter what kind of produce you're buying, use this guide to pick the perfect fruit and vegetables at your grocery store or farmer's market.
Second, stop eating plastic. About 93% of Americans have detectable levels of bisphenol A (BPA) in their bodies, and 75% have detectable levels of phthalates in their urine. Both of these synthetic chemicals, found in plastics, mimic estrogen. And like some pesticides, these chemicals can predispose your body from an early age to gain fat. To limit exposure to plastics, don’t put plastic items into the oven, dishwasher or microwave, since heat can damage plastic and increase leaching. Avoid plastic-wrapped meat. Cut down on canned goods like tuna, and buy frozen vegetables in bags instead of canned produce. Use a nonplastic mug for hot beverages whenever you can.
Third, cut down on conventionally grown beef, which is grown in a swamp of hormones. A 1999 European study concluded that people who eat meat from cattle treated with growth hormones are taking in hormones and their metabolites: estrogens in the range of 1 to 84 nanograms per person per day, progesterone (64 to 467 ng), and testosterone (5 to 189 ng). A nanogram is a billionth of a gram: That's tiny. But it may be enough to disrupt the way your hormone system operates, research indicates. Some experts believe that certain obesogens exert influence at below 1 part per billion. And small amounts from many sources add up over time.
Lastly, beware of high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and soy, which are added into your diet and the diet of the animals you eat, and which carry or are converted into natural obesogens. HFCS is found in countless items, from bread to ketchup to Life Savers to cough medicine. Recent research indicates that a diet high in HFCS may trick your brain into craving more food even when you don't need it. And preliminary research indicates that HFCS may even play a role in disrupting the endocrine system. Soy contains two naturally occurring chemicals, genistein and daidzein, both of which are estrogenics, which can spur the formation of fat cells. Furthermore, chickens that once ate natural grasses and forage now feed on a high-energy diet of which soybean meal is a large component. According to British researchers, this type of diet is partly to blame for the fact that some modern chickens contain two to three times as many calories from fat as from protein.
