Paul Penders Goes For International Vegan Assurance!

Certification has become a “big business” with literally hundreds of certification boards offering to evaluate, rate, and promote your products – for a price. Certifiers will be happy to rate products as natural, organic, cruelty-free, free from harmful chemicals, good for the environment, and many more such things – whatever is currently fashionable!

Paul Penders products from the very beginning forty years ago have always been made from the finest natural organic herbal ingredients – so we have often chosen not to support these certification agencies.

Cruelty to animals is an issue dear to my heart. We have gone one step further than most cosmetics and personal care companies: we do not use any products that come from animals. That is already certified by Jakim, the leader and the most prominent in the world, for this kind of certification.

At the urging of some vegan friends, we have decided it would be good to be able to share this choice publicly. Paul Penders products are suitable even for the most conscientious vegan customer! But how do we prove it?

One of the few certification agencies I feel I can fully embrace is the non-profit American Vegetarian Association (AVA). They are dedicated to the “preservation, propagation, and distribution of vegetarian ideas and products.” Their widely recognized certification program enables vegetarian-minded people to make accurate choices, certain that the manufacturer’s claims are truthful.

With a distinguished advisory board made up of doctors, environmental scientists, nutritionists, chefs, and experts on the manufacturing processes involved in taking naturally grown ingredients from farm to home, the AVA is truly an impressive organization with the highest ethical standards of integrity.

Once a product is submitted to the AVA for consideration, they carefully scrutinize every element to be sure it meet the standards for either vegetarian (dairy and eggs allowed) or vegan (no animal products) certification. Paul Penders products are strictly vegan.

AVA is now in the process of evaluation of the Paul Penders line. In future blogs, I’ll tell you more about how and why we can proudly say that our natural herbal products are not only Halal-certified but soon to be vegan-certified as well!

This website provides ‘no-nonsense’ professional in-depth reviews about “the good and the bad” in the cosmetic world. High-end professionals from medical and cosmetic fields are associated with this highly successful web-magazine making it the world’s leading site for honest and true education on cosmetics. Debbie in the Netherlands is one of the officials Test Judges of the Beauty Journal and tested 3 of Paul Penders natural herbal skincare products. Below is her report.

What 3 Paul Penders products did Debbie test?

Paul Penders Hydrating Control Serum

This serum surely feels comfortable on my face thanks to the almost creamy effect. I noticed that it easily spreads out and quickly absorbed into my skin. I decided to use only this serum before going to bed, once a day, because it is of such a firm consistence. Sometimes I use Aloe & Lavender A.M. Moisturizer for the day, but also sometimes I use Aloe & Lavender A.M. Moisturizer for the night as well because I do not like to apply two “thick” layers of skincare on my face.

I noticed every time when I woke up that my skin looked more radiant and smooth. In fact my skin looked very healthy and seemed even firmer than before. The smell of the product is ‘herbalish’ and honestly, I had to get used to it although that particular herbal scent disappears after a couple of minutes.

Paul Penders Aloe & Lavender A.M. Moisturizer

This day care product is of a light composition and gets easily absorbed into the skin. It spreads out wonderfully and I can feel that is soothes my skin. Immediately after application my face feels well moisturized and therefore really soft. It gives my face the comparative matte taint that I like so much. The scent is very fresh and certainly not overwhelming. It’s actually a very nice smell and the texture of the product turns this day care into the perfect product for the typical summer weather conditions in The Netherlands!

Paul Penders Avocado & Cranberry P.M. Moisturizer

This night moisturizer is of a perfect creamy substance and it feels great on my skin. It’s slightly thicker than the day care moisturizer but still quickly absorbed into my skin. It doesn’t feel oily and that’s a great advantage compared to some other organic night creams I’ve been testing before!

This time I really feel that I am giving my skin a little extra for the night and I am actually looking forward to every new evening when I can use the personal night cream that I have now adopted to love…

This Avocado & Cranberry PM Moisturizer also has the specific Paul Penders herbal like scent but… meanwhile I have grown into loving it!!! Because of this herbal smell I am starting to think that it might just really do the work for my skin. This scent helps me to keep close to nature and makes me realize that this is just what we have forgotten. Staying close to Mother Nature for she provides in life all we need.

My conclusion about Paul Penders Cosmetics:
Using all these 3 products result in a healthier looking skin and makes me really happy to look into the mirror. My skin looks well nourished and firmer. I do not expect my lines to disappear or even become less because the most important thing for me is radiant skin and a healthy glow. The paradox of this conclusion is that at first I was afraid to write this positive review because one could not possibly be so enthusiastic about Paul’s products. My test results seem exaggerated but then, I am truly THAT enthusiastic! Surely there must be a minor….

Well there could be two little minors of Paul’s products:

  • They smell like herbal garden in summer and that is a matter of taste.
  • The packaging is simple and beautiful but not significant. The consumer might not be easily drawn towards the packaging and that would be a shame! Because Paul Penders products really deserve your full attention!

Last but not least….:
I’ve fallen in love with Paul Penders natural herbal cosmetics. The 3 products I tried feel like trying more of Paul’s products. In addition I have also fallen in love with the mission, the vision and the passion of the Paul Penders Company.

Cruelty free organic cosmetics will give the same results as non-organic, chemical cosmetics. Life’s responsibilities; hold on to your principles… “Just do your thing and go for it”!

Australian Hair & Makeup Artist Promotes Natural, Cruelty-Free Cosmetics

One of the very proud moments in my life with the incredible Jane Goodall during the launch of her film at IMAX…. A brief background on myself… Hi : -) I am Nicole Groch. I have been a professional freelance hair & makeup artist based in Melbourne, Australia for over 19 years. I have been working in the fashion, advertising and music industry both in Australia and overseas. Quite some year’s back now, I took it upon myself to rethink my attitude towards the makeup & hair products I used in my kit.

I had been a vegetarian for many years for ethical reasons, and only used ‘cruelty free’ products in my work, but I was also very interested in all the natural and organic products that were becoming more readily available.

I did research into the common ingredients used in the majority of cosmetic brands and was astounded at how many toxic ingredients they contained and how they can adversely affect our health. I then converted my kit, so I now use on my clients only the safest, cruelty free and natural products that I can source. This is how I came to love the Paul Penders range as they stood for everything I believed in, vegan, natural and safe. Over the years I got to know Paul and he is an incredible inspirational person.

Because I didn’t believe it was ethical to use or promote any products that were tested on animals I was constantly turning down work for companies that either used such products, or had real fur in their ranges, including their TV commercials, fashion parades, fashion shows and product editorials. Particularly I wanted to do something positive with my makeup skills to help animals!

So I got in contact with the Australian www.choosecrueltyfree.org.au/makeup.html (they accredit cruelty free companies) and offered to start “The Cruelty Free Makeup Tips”. I arranged a huge celebrity launch for the “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” poster campaign I had put together and did all hair and makeup for it as well.

I was able to use my connections to get celebrity support for the front covers of our magazines and for campaigns. After a few years I was asked to become a Director of Choose Cruelty Free and as their PR Director I found Paul Penders products. Our Preferred Product List www.choosecrueltyfree.org.au/list.html lead me to do PR work for other natural and cruelty free companies.

Now I am the mother of two beautiful children. And along with doing my hair and makeup work, and PR for CCF, I embarked on a journey that I am very passionate about! I have become the writer, editor, photographer, marketing and PR person for a website my husband Jonathan (an IT professional) and I together designed, called: www.livingsafe.com.au

The aim of Living Safe is to give individuals easy tools and accurate knowledge to help them create a safe and healthy environment for their children, pets and …ultimately themselves! Since we have launched the site several months ago we have been getting fantastic positive feedback, especially from parents thanking us for creating this much needed site. It has made them more aware and informed about these very important issues. We hope our site will help to create a better world for the all of us. We also have a directory of “Safe & Non-Toxic” companies and of course, Paul’s products are on it as well as they fit the Living Safe ethos perfectly!
