I finally found Paul Penders Natural Sunscreen and I am very excited!

“…. Since I was a child, I have always been fascinated with horses. My mother once told me ever since I was a baby and saw a horse, I would point to it and whinny. So, I think one is born with the “horse bug” and it will never go away! If you have such a child you better start saving your pennies 🙂
It has been a long road to become a horse trainer and there will never be an end. It is about the “journey”, not the finish. I try to help a horse become stronger, healthier and happier in his daily work, no matter if they are just a pleasure mount or a fancy sport horse.
It takes careful and methodical training to create an athlete and a whole team of farriers, vets and trainers to keep on track. There is no end to learning, so it is always interesting.

Working with animals has made me a better person because they do not lie and do not judge. Horses in particular seem to have an uncanny way to mirror one’s personality. Impatience for instance, might create a nervous horse, or you can break them down physically by pushing them too far too soon.
They made me realize, that relationships are built on trust and if you can win that trust, there is nothing more rewarding or beautiful winning over such an amazing animal. Being able to make him your willing partner is an unbelievable feeling. And because of this, I can deal much better with life and what it might throw my way and I realized what’s really important and what is not worth losing sleep over.

Being outdoors most of the day, we horse people need sunscreen that does not sting when you sweat and doesn’t run into your eyes.
I often hear my fellow riders cry out about the sticky, pore clogging, sweaty, and filled with chemicals sunscreens and the wish for one that actually feels and smells nice.
Well, I finally found Paul Penders Natural Herbal Sunscreen SPF22 and I am very excited about this product. It feels very nice when you put it on, like a moisturizer, does not clog your pores and has a great smell.

No chemicals to worry about and it stays on all day, unless of course you work ten horses a day and sweat it off. I will recommend this to all my “horsier friends” and am sure, they will love it, too.
Thank you so much Paul to give us this great product. It has made my daily life in the sun much more safe and enjoyable! Happy trails, everyone!

How does sunscreen work?

Paul Penders - Windy Day (Image by sanja gjenero)No matter what skin tone you have, sunlight can damage your skin. Therefore, you need to protect yourself with sunscreen from the damaging rays of the sun whenever you are out in the sun. Besides, your skin can age quickly if insufficient protection is given.

Skin cancer is by far the most common form of cancer suffered by people. However, it is simple to prevent skin cancer by applying sunscreen, wearing a hat or using an umbrella when you are going to be outside for a significant amount of time.

As you may know, not all sun protection is created equally. There are several factors that determines how much protection it provides you. The first factor is time. If the sunscreen provides you sun protection for only an hour, you need to rePaul Penders - Sun (Image by Ilker)apply it accordingly. The second is the SPF of the product.

What is SPF? SPF is an acronym for Sun Protection Factor. So, what does SPF mean with sunscreen? SPF of 15 up through the high twenties gives a better shield against the damaging rays of the sun, but still allows a certain amount of penetration. SPF 30 or above offers the best sun protection. Generally, anything below SPF 15 is not really worth buying because it provides minimal protection.

Technically, SPF represents a measurement of time that is determined by calculating how long you can be exposed to the sun without any protection before getting a sun burn. For example, a sunscreen with a SPF 20 rating represents that you could stay out in the sun for a 200 minutes or twenty times the period without sun protection.

Paul Penders - Herbal Sunscreen SPF22Regardless of SPF number, testing of sunscreen does not really correspond to the amount of time you can stay out in the sun without burning because sweating, clothing rubbing against the skin, and water sports will all wear the sunscreen off. So, SPF number results can be inaccurate. Usually, an SPF 15 rated sunscreen will give your about an hour of protection before you need to reapply sunscreen. This varies from individual to individual.

Try Paul Penders’ Herbal Sunscreen SPF22! It provides broad spectrum protection from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun while vitamins repair, soothe and hydrate the skin. It also contains titanium and zinc oxides for UV protection and uplifting lavender essential oil. This non-sticky formulation absorbs almost immediately after application.
